Unfair (K/S, R) Written by Arachne "Christine, what's up?" Christine Chapel, the first nurse in the Enterprise sickbay looked up from the glass whisky, to find the person behind the question. She found two: Nyota Uhura and Janice Rand. She looked around the bar , to find somebody perhaps too near to hear her answer. There was no one there. Christine gazed back at the two women : "I'm no lucky, hic!" This 'hic' told the both women that Christine's whisky was not the first one in the last half hour. The rest of the answer revealed an unexpected direction toward a very long dialogue. Uhura looked at Rand but she only shrugged with her shoulders and ordered more drinks. Finally Uhura, the glass holding in her hand, repeated her question: "Tell us Christine, what's up?" "He doesn't love me, "sobered Christine. Uhura and Rand changed a horrified look. No not again. The story about Christine Chapels feelings toward commander Spock was known to the whole crew. And this was the first thing too, which every newcomer on board was convinced about. "Of course he doesn't, " Janice said, "I'm sorry Christine, but you must see the reality. He would never return your feelings." She waved resolutely with her hands, " I don't know why, but it is so." Uhura only nodded and took a sip from her own drink. "See it so Christine," she went on, "to serve on the Enterprise means to serve under two biggest machos in the whole Star Fleet." The waiter brought new drinks. He has thrown an puzzled look at the three women, but said nothing. "Right," shouted Janice out a bit too aloud. Some faces in the bar looked after her, then turned away. "Kirk for example," continued the young woman. "Three days ago he was fucking my best friend. And the morning thereafter he pretended not to know her." "Yes, James Kirk the first class fucker." Uhura ordered more drinks. She knew, tomorrow she would awake with a big headache, but at that moment it did not matter. "Yes," she nodded too much heavily," a stiffly icy Vulcan and a human fucker extraordinare, what a combination. Cheers!" But Christine didn't listen to her. Right now she was asleep, her head pillowed on the bar desk. Janice and Nyota looked at each other: "We must help her." "How Janice. A revenge on our CO's?" "Why not?" Yes why not, Uhura thought. The revenge could be sweet. Captain Kirk suffered a bad toothache today, which was more as only uncomfortable for him. But a bad tooth or not, he was the captain of a starship living after the rule duty first. So he visited the sickbay today morning and asked Dr. McCoy for some sedative with a 'serious' promise to come tomorrow to let him to fix it. Dr. McCoy gave him what Kirk wanted with his I-know-you- better-look, adding: "There is some more stuff for the evening, and if it shouldn't work, there something stronger for the night." The whole day went ok. But at evening, as he wanted to go to Scotty's birthday party the ache returned, to be much stronger this time. Impatiently he swallowed all McCoy gave him, to be ok until tomorrow. "Well," he thought satisfied, this is really strong. And with this thought he forgot his tooth, the sedative and went to the rec deck. Spock came late to the birthday party of engineer Scott. But no one made a comment about it. All people knew, that Spock's punctuality was either nerving. But today it was first the yellow alert, which yelled three times, then a very important experiment went wrong, which reason turned into a serious bug in the software... With another words, there were enough reasons not to come. But Scotty was Spock's friend and it was a matter of honour to keep his given word and appear to such human ceremony like to mention the day of the birth. He thought often about the philosophy, which surely was behind this custom and during the years serving under the humans, he developed some interesting sociological theories about that theme. But he knew, today it were a bad timing to start with this, especially if Dr. McCoy was there. So he handed Scotty his birthday gift and wished him simply all good for the next years. Scotty was touched and as he unwrapped the small box he exploded in an enthusiastic outburst. It was an antic old fashioned mechanical clock. Scotty deeply touched patted Spock heavily on his shoulder, never minded the don't-touch-a-Vulcan-rule and poured a large glass of an odd looked liquid. "Home made whisky. My brother gave me this " and with those words he handed it to the Vulcan. Spock was taught from his mother many years ago, to loose from time to time his self-control to pretend an unexpected offence. So although he seldom touched alcohol, this time he made an exception and emptied the glass in one long sip. The party was on the end as Uhura, Rand and Chapel left together, to go to their quarters. The evening was good, the party successful. They turned the corner and found the captain tumbling, helpless to reach the button of the turbolift and beside him the commander leaning on the wall evidently at the end of his abilities to move further. Uhura grinned at her friends and moved toward the captain. "Need help?" She asked innocently. Instead to give an answer, the good captain dropped direct in Uhura's arms. She cached him only with effort. Janice called the turbolift and then turned to look after Christine and the commander. Of course she held the Vulcan in her arms. But was it really necessary to make such silly I'm-in- heaven-grin? Janice rolled with her eyes. "One day she will turn me mad", whispered the young woman to Uhura, deeply annoyed by Chapels behaviour. The turbolift arrived just in time, to disappear into with their victims and to move toward deck 5. The both men were drunk, they were heavy, they were ... unconscious! Uhura met Rands gaze over Kirk's shoulder. Yes, she answered back, time to our joke. The turbolift stopped just right now. Kirk laid in bed and felt warm and it was delightful. The tooth didn't ache too. Bones wild stuff worked still. And the sheets felt unusually smooth like a warm silk. A very warm silk indeed. Jim snuggled a bit closer and the silky smoothens, he was wrapped into, moved. Moving sheets? Kirk mused in his mind and opened his eyes. Better he hasn't done it. He felt the wave of horror, shock and astonishment coming upon him. He was in bed! With Spock! And both were naked! Under other circumstances he would laugh seeing such face, Spock was just making. But not today. As quickly as he could he jumped out of Spock's bed and started his characteristic pacing. Three steps right, three steps left. Spock watched him silently sitting on the edge of the bed, his stiff attitude a contrast to his naked body. Finally Kirk stopped pacing :" How ..., what's happened?" Spock needed whole 3.55 seconds to speak aloud the answer:" I think, this is evident." And with those words he disappeared in the bathroom. Jim wanted to call something after him, but he skipped the idea. He looked around and started to pick up his clothes spread along Spock's quarters. The uniform tunic was right under the bed. The trousers he found on the table. The boots well they were just on the top of the meditation bank. The most time he spend to search after his briefs to find them finally (oh my god) placed neatly over the face of the small vulcan daemon. Jim remembered, Spock told him, this should be an old family piece of art. Very rare and very expensive. He sat down in the chair to jump out again. He turned to see what he was sitting onto. He picked up a small jar and thought he would die as he realised he held lubricant in his hand. The whole bed smelled after this stuff! He headed toward the entry of the bathroom. The sound of the shower continued still. Kirk could see in his mind the Vulcan washing resolute the night out of his body and surely out of his mind too. Jim reminded himself this could be a good idea to do it too. He dressed himself quickly and walked out of Spock's quarters. The shift on the bridge will be not the endless one today. Uhura mused, still giggling secretly at the comm con. The idea to put the captain and the commander together in one bed the last night, was the best she has ever had. The door of the turbolift hissed open and Janice Rand logged herself to the duty. She passed the chair the comm officer was sitting in and the eyes of both women met. They grinned at each other. Christine Chapel went through the corridor on deck 6. She turned just the corner to meet suddenly the captain coming from the left and the commander from the right side. As the both men had seen each others they stopped, a five meter save distance between them, not recognising the nurse staying in the middle. The eyes of the Vulcan and the human met, they faces turned green hot and deep red. After few moments of starring at each others they continued in their directions. Well, thought Chapel to herself very satisfied, it has done good. The day was long, too long for Jim Kirk. However long enough to gather some courage and to step at the end of the shift to the Vulcan: "Spock, we should talk." The black eyes looked up from the computer screen. They had not spoke the whole day to each others, they even avoided to meet each others. Or at last, they tried to. But Spock reminded himself, they at last must not ignore the awkward event, which happened today morning. With vulcan habit, which ordered not to waste any time he asked back: "My quarters or yours, captain?" To hear this Jim blushed even deeper, but he took one another deep breath to make the decision: "I thing, this time it could be the mine." In Uhura's quarters started a small improvised party this evening. There were some chips, popcorn, biscuits, bottles of sect and a lot of jokes and laugh. Kirk sat heavily down on his bed. "Spock, I'm sorry, but I really don't know how it could happen." "We were both drunk captain, for the first time in my live I have the practical proof, how illogical is the consummation of alcohol indeed." Jim sighed and looked up to the Vulcan. Although the captain was sitting, the Vulcan remained staying in front of him, his shoulders stiffly straight, his hands clasped behind his back. No he didn't make for Kirk the conversation easily, in any way. "Look Spock, it's already happened to me before, that I awoke in bed after an wild night and was not alone. The problem for me is, that it was always a woman there, never a man. I was never with a man before." Hearing those words from the captain, Spock decided it would be better to take a chair at once. Finally sitting in front of Kirk he gave him the sign to continue. "Spock, did we...? You know.. Because I remember nothing." Spock moved uncomfortable in his chair: " Neither I, captain." Kirk gave him a surprised look: "But I thought..." But Spock interrupted him: "Captain, I said only, that the traces of out activity were evident. This was only a logical deduction as the fact of matter." "Then we would never know, what's really happened yesterday. Because I would never let Bones to investigate me." At this possibly option Spock lifted both eyebrows: "I thing, our good doctor would be seriously shocked." Kirk smiled a little but the smile faded as quickly as it has appeared. "Then what, my friend?" He asked again. The next morning on the board of the Enterprise. Three women giggled in the front of the turbolift door, waiting to enter the tiny tube. The door hissed open, but as Christine Chapel, Nyota Uhura and Janice Rand wanted to step into, they stopped in the middle of the movement, unable to do anything by the astonishing scene just in front of their eyes:. On the turbolift wall tugged two bodies together, sharing a deep passionate kiss. The three women watched shocked captains flushed face and commanders hands moving under the golden tunic, until the door closed and the tube continued in its way taking the both men with. Janice found at first the speech: "Well?" She turned to Nyota. "Oh my god, Janice, what have we done?" Gasped the young woman back. Christine burst out in tears: " That's unfair!" The both women sighed as one in agreement. Unfair, indeed! End -------------------------------------------------------------- G'Kar to Drazi: "A rodenberry is something you eat?" (konezny)
