The Calling Of Red Blood (TOS Legend Story) written by Arachnethe2 Ages ago in time of the grandmother of my grandmother our clan was the most powerful in the Tsu'mio'kheef desert. Many caravans have crossed the place, where the tents of our camps have been standing, trading with herds, carpets, spice, gold and metal. The warriors of my clan have protected them and the traders have paid willingly for their safety because the times were hard and the desert dangerous around our camp. And so became our clan rich, powerful, not living in its tents anymore. Instead of a simple camp a town was there with beautiful houses and palazzos and gardens with water and green plants. Everyone could come into our town to be our guest. Because the gastronomy was a holy ritual to us. That was the way of my ancestors, which was followed by their descendants through the past millennia. It was in time of the Great Queen khe'mion T'Pau vihe'ehhn as a caravan of unknown people visited our town. No one have ever heard about them. They looked different to any of us in our town: their skin was pale and sensitive to the sun in the desert, their ears were small and round, their blood red like the sand, their spirit light and lovely. They seemed to smile the whole time. The strangers were guests in our town for long time and have won many friends among us. Especially Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha, who belonged to the family of the Great Queen, has spend many time among them, listening over and over to the stories about their green land, with so much water, that it falls directly from the sky from time to time. No one wanted to believe this, but Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha remained curious and begged the Great Queen for permission to go with the strangers to see their land. Finally khe'mion T'Pau vihe'ehhn permitted the journey and one morning disappeared Sarek with those people, whose blood was red, behind the horizon and many years no one have heard anything about him. But oh gods of the red sand, what a pleasure reined in the town as Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha appeared in front of our gates one day, healthy and alive. He has brought many greetings from the people, whose blood was red, many gifts for his family and the beloved Great Queen, many wonderful stories about his adventures in the dessert and in the land of the strangers. He also didn't come alone: he has brought a woman with him. A beautiful and lovely being, who seemed to smile the whole day, like her people did. And Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha loved her with his whole body and soul and she shared her love with him with all the tenderness and passion. Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha made her to his wife and they lived happy for many years, loving each others and their son Spock khe vihe'eh'ha. And the town blossomed in the times of peace under the save guard of the wise Great Queen. Again many years passed by and Spock khe vihe'eh'ha became a man. The teachers have prised his wisdom, his father was proud of his sons skilness in hunting and fighting, every woman in the town looked after Spock's handsome figure, sighing secretly and envying his betrothed T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin, the granddaughter of the Great Queen, which should inherit the throne one day. But Spock khe vihe'eh'ha spend many times looking toward the horizon of the Tsu'mio'kheef desert thinking, dreaming. One day he stepped for his father and the throne of the old Great Queen and told to the whole family about a decision he has made. Before he is going to marry his betrothed he will travel to the land of the ancestors of his mother -- of the people, whose blood is red. 'My soul', he tried to explain, 'is parted in two halves. The one is already here, the other is lying undiscovered in him. Only the people of his mother are able to make him whole.' Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha protested against the decision of his only son, but his wife has known better. This was the calling of red blood in him, the calling of his strange ancestors. There is no other way as to obey it and follow. And so one day Spock khe vihe'eh'ha left the house of his parents and the town of his clan and like his father he disappeared behind the horizon, searching after the people of his mother. Many years he has travelled through the desserts, visited many places, has been a guest in many towns and many tents. And always he has followed the traces and the cards of his father. The land around him became green more and more, even the water has been falling from the sky more often and finally as he has crossed large mountains he has seen a beautiful town in front of him and behind those town was water reaching the horizon. And Spock khe vihe'eh'ha has known, this was the country of his mother. Many years he has spend among the people, whose blood was red. He lived in their beautiful town, became used to their somehow odd yet harmless customs, sometimes admiring them, sometimes refusing them. But the people laughed only and teased him sometimes gently about his wondering. Spock khe vihe'eh'ha loved them. He was happy among them and he has found many friends too. Especially Kirkh'whan Jim, a brave warrior, who feared nothing. Not even the storms on the sea, so have the people called the large mass of water behind their town. Whose green eyes were always looking beyond the horizon, to the places, where no one has been before. But the years passed by quickly and Spock khe vihe'eh'ha became aware of the changes in him, changes whose every adult man of his folk starts to feel one day. He told regretfully to his friend Kirkh'whan Jim, that he must return home to marry his betrothed, before it could be late for him. But Kirkh'whan Jim didn't want to let him go alone. He asked Spock khe vihe'eh'ha for permission to go with him, to protect him during the journey, when the state of his friend will became worse. Spock khe vihe'eh'ha agreed and the both friend left the town on the edge of the large water and headed toward the town deep in the desert. The journey was long and dangerous, but Spock khe vihe'eh'ha never regretted his decision to take Kirkh'whan Jim with. But as farther as he came on the journey home, he felt weaker and weaker. Finally seven tendays away from their destiny he could not any more. The heat of his body has consumed him mercilessly, he could not eat, he could not drink, he could not hold the sword in his hands. He was lying wrapped in the blankets knowing, now is too late for him. Kirkh'whan Jim worried about the live of his beloved friend, wanted to know, what it is for a strange illness and if he can't help him? But is took many time for him until he was able to convince Spock khe vihe'eh'ha. And he told him the secret of his people: the secret about a fever coming every seven years to an adult man, the secret about burning in the heat of desire, which could be extinguish only by mating. To mate or to die, that was the way every seven years from now to the end of the live. But Kirkh'whan Jim didn't hesitate and there in the loneliness of the desert he offered himself to his friend, to ease his fever for some while, to safe his friends live. Spock khe vihe'eh'ha accepted this gift, knowing and treasuring the love and generosity of his friend. And so they made love in the night desert, only the stars above them witnessed their passion. Seven tendays they travelled toward the town in the desert, seven nights they mate in the red sand, swearing undying love and faith to each other. In the morning of the eight tenday they reached the walls and the main gate of the town, which was the home of Spock khe vihe'eh'ha. The whole family came to them: his parents, his bride the old wise Great Queen. The marriage ceremony could be carried on. But Spock khe vihe'eh'ha was too long away. His bride T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin has waited too long for him, too long to desire him still. At this very morning, as Spock khe vihe'eh'ha arrived there was already someone other in her live and there was only one possibility for her to get free to marry her new mate. In name of the ancestors, according their old traditions, using her right, she forced duel between Spock khe vihe'eh'ha and the rival of her choice. But fearing the possible death of her lover she has choose Kirkh'whan Jim.Spock khe vihe'eh'ha begged the Great Queen to not allow the fight, because Kirkh'whan Jim was a stranger, because he was a beloved friend to him, because he Spock khe vihe'eh'ha was already on the edge of his mating madness. But the Great Queen was helpless this time. The laws of the ancestors were stronger as her will. She has had no other way as to demand the fight. Kirkh'whan Jim didn't hesitate and accepted. On the red sand in front of the old town, two friends, whose have loved each other, fought against each other brutally and without mercy. The fight took long. their ragged breath and the hiss of their weapons were the only sounds in the calm air of this day. Then suddenly Kirkh'whan Jim jumped aside and Spock khe vihe'eh'ha fell on his sword. Kirkh'whan Jim cached him in his arms, held him tight desperately trying to stop the bleeding with his own palm. But he has known, it was too late. His beloved friend died under his hands. Kirkh'whan Jim cried long on the red sand in the front of the ancient town, and his tears washed away the dust and green blood of his friends face. Then he stood up and stepped toward T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin, forcing the explanation. T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin, beautiful and cold, told him, she didn't want to wait long, she has found a new partner. She has known, that if Spock khe vihe'eh'ha would win, he would not want her anymore, and if Kirkh'whan Jim would win, he wouldn't want her either. But then he smiled an ugly smile and the blood in the veins of the viewers froze. 'How do you know, I wouldn't want you?' He asked. He took her hand and brought her to the dead body in the red sand: 'Look,' he hissed, 'there is lying the other half of my soul, the one I have loved, the one, whom my heard belonged to. He is dead, because I have killed him at your order. You wanted the fight, instead the marriage, you wanted a new partner. So I'm the one you will get. After the laws of your ancestors.' And right there he has married her. Then he buried the dead body of Spock khe vihe'eh'ha, but he was not crying anymore. All tears have left him. Short time thereafter died the Great Queen and the whole town has mourned for her. T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin inherited the throne, but it was Kirkh'whan Jim, who has held the power in his hands. But he was a good king to his new people. Sometimes he said, it is because he is seeing the face of Spock khe vihe'eh'ha in every stone of this town. The people gave him the name the Lonely King and the name suited him well, because he was neither smiling not crying, but the dark veil of his sad loneliness was present everywhere. They all have known, that he has died with his friend on the red sand long time ago. He has never touched his wife, but he took many women in his bed. But all have loved him, because he was lovely gently with them and he carried about the children, they have born for him. And most of those children have small rounded ears and red blood and liked to smile the whole day. T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin hated all the women and all his children, but he has shrugged with his shoulders meaning, she is free to choose the lover of her own. But this has made her even more angry. Because her own people have loved him, because they all have known, she was the guilty one. So she waited for many years, hating, simply hating. Until one day she got a secret message of her old lover, who has escaped to the another clan in the neighbourhood, which was the rival for long time, envying the riches of the desert town. He has marched with a large amount of warriors toward the town. In the night they arrived to the walls and to the gate and T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin and her allies let their enemies in. The town awaked to a brutal fight. The warriors grabbed their swords and run to defend their homes and families, but it was too late. In the morning only black ruins remained the place, where palazzos, busy streets and beautiful gardens once have been. And in the place, where the main gate stand, two bodies were lying in their blood: T'Pring khe vihe'ehlin and her lover--the traitor. They have served well to the purpose of the enemy, thereafter they weren't needed any more. The fugitives escaping from the town, have found their king lying deadly wounded on the grave of Spock khe vihe'eh'ha. But before he has died he gave his sword in the hands of his children, saying to bring it back to his people, whose blood was red. And the he died, being at once one with his beloved friend. Many years has been passed by, many years my folk has been travelling through the dessert, the sword of our king Kirkh'whan Jim and his blood being the only things we have possessed. Many of us died, many gave up the travelling and settled down, founding new clans and new towns. But I can't rest, because the calling of the red blood in me is too strong and I could do nothing, but obey its command. I'm old, the sword of Kirkh'whan Jim is heavy in my hand, the cards of Sarek khe vihe'eh'ha got lost in the fire of the desert town. But like Spock khe vihe'eh'ha I'm travelling through the deserts, searching after the people, whose blood is red. Because then, only then I can find the peace for the other half of my soul. < Kirkh'whan Arachnethe2 khe vihe'ehlin drinks some water, because her throat got dry, through the storytelling. Then she sits down, weary, but ready to listen to the other stories.> End. _____________________________________________________________ ________________
